Description

The SYN SHOP Badge was made for DefCon 34, 2026 as a soldering practice board and social contacts game.
The board has two modes of operation: Social IR and Dice Roller.
When powered up with the J5 jumper installed, it comes up in Dice Roller mode.
When powered up with the J5 jumper removed, it comes up in Social IR mode.
It uses NEC IR protocol to communicate with other badges and records contacts. The dual 7-segment displays show the badge ID and the, temporarily, contacted badge ID.
It can also be powered and controlled through the SAO port I2C interface. A UDPI port, compatible to the SNAP programmer and an optional six pin serial port are included.
